Passport Info for Re-entry into the U.S. from Mexico
Following is information from the U.S. Department of Customs and Border Protection Agency regarding Passports needed for re-entry into the U.S.

Adults 18 and Older - Passports are needed for re-entry into the U.S. at this time.

Minors 16-18 - Passports are not needed under the following condition: U.S. citizen children between the ages of 16-18 arriving by land or sea from contiguous territory and traveling with an adult-supervised school group, religious group, social or cultural organization, or sports team, may also present an original or copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a Naturalization Certificate.

Minors 16-18 - Passports are needed if the above condition is not met.

Minors 15 and Younger - Passports are not needed but recommended. An original Birth Certificate and photo ID (for students) is acceptable at this time according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency (see info below).

Groups of Children: U.S. citizen children under the age of 19 arriving by land or sea from Canada or Mexico and traveling with a school group, religious group, social or cultural organization or sports team, may present an original or copy of their birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a Naturalization Certificate. The group should have a letter on organizational letterhead with:

The name of the group and supervising adult(s).

The names of the children on the trip and their primary address, phone number, date and place of birth, and name of at least one parent or legal guardian for each child.

A written and signed statement of the supervising adult certifying that he or she has parental or legal guardian consent for each child.
